Love, love, love.......all we need is LOVE....



Because today is a day that is set aside to celebrate LOVE...I thought it would be appropriate to hear a few words about L-O-V-E from the Author, Himself:

Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.
Deuteronomy 6:5

Know therefore that the LORD your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commands.  Deuteronomy 7:9

Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.  1 Chronicles 16:34

But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation. Psalm 13:5

But the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love, Psalm 33:18

Your love, O LORD, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies. Psalm 36:5

But you, O Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness...Psalm 86:15

The LORD is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. Psalm 103:8
 

Praise the LORD. Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever. Psalm 106:1

The LORD is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love. Psalm 145:8

...because the LORD disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in. Proverbs 3:12

Better a meal of vegetables where there is love than a fattened calf with hatred. Proverbs 15:17

He who covers over an offense promotes love, but whoever repeats the matter separates close friends. Proverbs 17:9

The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit. Proverbs 18:21

What a man desires is unfailing love ; better to be poor than a liar. Proverbs 19:22

He who pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity and honor. Proverbs 21:21

Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the LORD, who has compassion on you. Isaiah 54:10
He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. Micah 6:8

And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.” Matthew 3:17
“Here is my servant whom I have chosen, the one I love, in whom I delight; I will put my Spirit on him, and he will proclaim justice to the nations. Matthew 12:18

Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ Matthew 22:37

He answered: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’ ; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ ” Luke 10:27


“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. John 15:9
My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. John 15:12

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves. Romans 12:10

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 1 Corinthians 13:4

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
1 Corinthians 13:13

Do everything in love. 1 Corinthians 16:14

The entire law is summed up in a single command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”Galatians 5:14

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23

For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— Ephesians 1:4-5
Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Ephesians 4:2
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Philippians 4:8

Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loveColossians 3:12

And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Colossians 3:14
For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.
2 Timothy 1:7
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Hebrews 10:24
Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for your brothers, love one another deeply, from the heart. 1 Peter 1:22

Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. 1 Peter 4:8

How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!
1 John 3:1

This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers. 1 John 3:16

Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth. 1 John 3:18
Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 1 John 4:7

Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. 1 John 4:8

This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 1 John 4:9

There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. 1 John 4:18

We love because he first loved us. 1 John 4:19

This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands.  1 John 5:2
